The Ultimate Showdown

Hard at work on my first day in the office

Hard at work during my first week in the office

Well, my adventure at YMI started back in May.  My “induction” to the YMI family began with “File N.”  Now, part of my job at YMI entails organizing the office to make it more manageable, which includes taking charge of our filing system.

So my first day in the office, I opened the cabinet-o-files and pulled out the first file my hand found: File N.  Brian had warned me that the current filing system was a little “rough around the edges,” but he could have never prepared me for File N.

I eagerly opened the file ready to sort through papers and documents related to the alphabetical letter “N”.   This was not the case.  I don’t think a single article in File N was actually related to “N” at all.

As I soon discovered, the YMI filing system was in complete disarray and in desparate need of some doctoring.  So I spent a big chunk of my first week at YMI rummaging through files and laughing with my co-workers over what I fondly like to call “The Ultimate Showdown: Kendall vs. File N.”

Fortunately, I have tamed our wild files and have embarked on my newest project – more to come on this on Friday!
